If you have old style cabinets that are flat or you just dont like the detail on them, I found a great easy way to give them a new look. Check out the pictures and instructions below. I will be doing this to our cabinets soon to give them a new look. I will be sanding all the old paint, applying this new detail then repainting our cabinets for a fresh new look with a very low budget.
Cut ¼" thick plywood into smaller panels that will fit on the cabinet fronts.
Make sure they are large enough to cover any existing grooves.
Apply adhesive to the panel and center it on the door.
Miter cut the moulding to fit around the panels, similar to a picture frame.
Glue the four moulding pieces in place.
Apply a thin layer of caulk where needed.
Typically, you might need caulk in the joints between the plywood and moulding, and the moulding and door front.
Allow the caulk to dry.
Now time to pick your paint and just paint!!
